For see-through fireplace installations, one decorative front may be installed on each viewing side. Two units can be purchased when matching decorative fronts are desired on both sides.

Installation Requirements

The Empire DF481VBL must be installed according to the manufacturer's decorative front installation instructions. Proper preparation of the surrounding finishing materials is necessary to ensure the front fits correctly.

Empire specifies an unfinished space of 1/16" on each side of the fireplace opening and 7/16" above and below the opening for decorative front installation.

Installation involves temporarily removing certain fireplace components to access the mounting locations. The decorative front is secured using threaded rods and nuts according to Empire's specified mounting procedure.

After installation, all removed fireplace components, glass panels, and protective barrier screens must be properly reinstalled before operating the fireplace.
