Always use the manufacturer-specified regulator and hose assembly and follow the current product manual when connecting, leak-testing, lighting, operating, or disconnecting the heater.

According to the North American installation manual, the heater should not be positioned:
- In open locations subject to rain.

- Where adequate combustion or ventilation airflow is restricted.
Maintain all manufacturer-required clearances and follow applicable local gas and fire-safety regulations.
With the standard heat reflector installed, the current HEATSTRIP brochure specifies approximately 500mm / 20in overhead clearance.
For locations requiring reduced overhead clearance, the optional X-DGRSHIELD heat shield can reduce the required clearance to approximately 300mm / 12in when installed according to manufacturer instructions.
